Caspersen Beach is one of the most enjoyable shelling beaches in the Venice area, and an excellent spot to find prehistoric sharks’ teeth! There are nature trails, excellent for wildlife viewing. The park is located south of the Venice Municipal Airport and is bounded by the Gulf of Mexico and the Intracoastal Waterway.

Englewood Beach is located on Manasota Key between the Gulf of Mexico and Lemon Bay. The Key is the next Key south of Venice Island, accessible by Manasota Beach Rd. at the north end and Beach Rd. at the south. The photo was taken from the rest area on the board walk that runs the length of the State Park that makes up the beach.

Venice Rookery is a small rookery island within a man-made lake and is a premier destination for birders and nature photographers. The rookery is a highly used nesting spot for egrets, herons and anhingas. Located behind the Sarasota County Court House in Venice, on Rt. 41 (S. Tamiami Trail) near Jacaranda Blvd. makes it convenient (There's that word again) to get too.
